While other kids were playing outside, you could find me inside gluing together pieces of paper, holding fabric up to myself to make a new outfit, or throwing glitter onto anything I could reach.
I took my life-long love of creating things to the University of Alabama, where I majored in Apparel and Textile Design and learned how to translate the principles of art and design into a career.
After college graduation and an internship at Cottage Living magazine, I joined the staffs of Southern Lady and Taste of the South magazines. Soon, I began styling photo shoots, and loving every second of creating the perfect setting for whatever my subject happen to be, whether it was a 3-layer cake, a sparkly necklace, or a big party.
After the birth of my daughter in 2013, I entered the world of freelance, with an emphasis on creating unique crafts and party themes. I have had the pleasure of partnering with brands and publications such Fresh Style magazine, Birmingham magazine, the WorldCrafts Fair Trade catalog, The Summit Birmingham, West Elm, Paper Source, Trader Joe's, Student Life, Golden Flake Snack Foods, St. Vincent's Health Systems, AFAR magazine + Westin Hotels, Milo's Hamburgers, Whole Foods, MountainChild (an NGO based in Nepal), and InSinkErator food disposals.
In all of my "spare time," I create cakes, cupcakes, pies, cookies, and pastries for events and celebrations. In 2015 I launched Birmingham Craft Night, a series of instructional workshops set up in homes or venues around town where we create modern craft projects.
I am married to a handsome bearded musician/artist, and we live in the charming suburb of Helena, Alabama with our precious daughter Evie, two crazy dogs, and a lot of craft supplies. We love to eat good food and travel the world.
I have been blessed beyond words to create beautiful things for a living. I would love to work with you on anything you might need, whether it be cupcakes for a wedding, a full editorial spread in a magazine, a helping hand in planning your kid's birthday, or inspiring you to hand-craft your holidays.
